Our take
This medium shredding disc from Cuisinart does a great job on carrots, cheese, and cabbage. It's made in Japan and feels well-constructed. The shred size is nicely consistent. I used it in my DLC-8 and it locked in securely. The only downside is that it only shreds – no slicing function. Also, being a single disc, you'll need additional discs for other tasks. For the price, it's a solid replacement if you need a shredder.
